Charles and Fannie death information

Ok,

I finally found out what Charles Slechta died of. He died of Typhoid Pneumonia. On the same death registry as Charles was his sister Fannie (Frances). She died of Peritonitis, my guess it was caused by childbirth. Her son, who was never named, died on January 19, 1888 and she died on January 25 1888. Yes those dates are correct. So If you have ever gone to the cemetery where she and her son are buried, the date on her tombstone (January 25 1887) is wrong. This death record information supports the marriage record of Fannie to Frank Wesley which is Feb. 1887 which is after the date on her tombstone.

Agnes Slechta's descendants

Yesterday I had the pleasure of visiting Agnes (Slechta) Hancuh's daughter Angela.  I met her at her daughter Alice's home.  I had a great visit with Angela, her daughter Alice and Alice's husband Bob.  Angela was able to identify a few pictures that were unknown and provide some bits of information that will help me track down more missing information and family members.  I have a few more people to visit and I hope they can provide information to some of the unknown pictures I have.

More Old Photos

A few weeks ago I went to visit Wayne Prosch again.  He had some photos of his grandmother (Anna Slechta) for me to scan.  He also had a bag of old photos that he let me take and go through.  They helped me put names to photos I had, but did not have names to.  There where also many photos in there that I did not have.  Of course there where many that had no names on them, so my unknown photo list got larger.  Some of the photos are really old and I fear that they will never get a name to them.

Here is some interesting information.

 

- the czech word "šlechta" means in english "aristokracy" or "nobility"

- as much as I was able to learn, in Bohemia there did exist a minimum 3 aristokracy families

       - Slechta of Vsehrdy (old family since 15th century)

       - Slechta of Hrochov ( young family, aristokracy till beginning 1859)

       - Slechta of Mitenperk (listed only in 16th century)

 

 

I also found that the Czech spelling of Hruska is Hruška.

I also got in contact with some of Anna (Slechta) Grubich's descendants.  They are helping me with her family information.  I still need much more information on her descendants, but I am getting there.
